Priority Access
Application for residence is separate from your application for admission to UBC.
Don't miss your opportunity. To qualify for priority access, we must receive your residence application and all supporting documents by May 1, 2013.
Priority Access to residence is offered based on availability. Students receiving priority access are generally offered a place in Similkameen Place, Cassiar, Valhalla, Kalamalka, Nicola, Purcell, Cascades, Upper Cascades, Monashee Place. If your residence preference cannot be met, you will be assigned elsewhere.
The criteria for priority access are as follows:
You are eligible for the first-year guarantee if:
- Your residence application and all supporting documents are received by May 1, 2013, and
- You receive and accept UBC Okanagan’s offer of academic admission by June 1, 2013
- PLUS one of the following:
- You are a year 1 student which includes all Canadian high school students, direct entry from high school (including students who have taken 1 gap year with no other post-secondary education), or
- You are a newly-admitted first-or-second year international undergraduate student (excluding post baccalaureate degree programs).

You may be eligible for priority access if your residence application and all supporting documents are received by May 1, 2013, and you receive and accept UBC Okanagan’s offer of academic admission by June 1, 2013, and:
- You are a newly-admitted Aboriginal student.
- You are a newly-admitted first-or-second-year international undergraduate student (excluding post baccalaureate degree programs).
- You are a newly-admitted student who receives an athletic scholarship as confirmed by UBC Okanagan Athletics and Recreation
- You are participating in one of the following reciprocal university student exchange programs:
- Go Global program - Commerce MBA Exchange Program
- You have a disability that significantly affects your housing needs, contact Disability Resource Services for more information. Regardless of your disability, you must be able to manage your living situation independently.
- You are a newly-admitted graduate student who receives one of the following awards or fellowships: NSERC, MRC, SSHRC, Commonwealth, NHRDP, CIDA. Put the title of your award and your home institution on the comments section of the application. Submit supporting documents.
