Transition from Faculty/Staff to Student Family Residence

In support of the University's commitment to accommodate more student families in on-campus residence, UBC Student Housing and Hospitality Services will begin to transition University Apartments (Point Grey Apartments, Spirit Park Apartments, Sopron House, Acadia House) from a faculty/staff to student family residence, effective December 15, 2010.

What does this mean if you are a current contract-holder?

We are committed to honouring your current Residence Agreement. Additionally you remain eligible for another contract until your 3-year maximum tenancy has been reached.

What does this change mean if you are a current applicant for faculty/staff housing in University Apartments?

• If your application was received by our office prior to December 15, 2010, we will honour the application. Your application has been waitlisted and when a University Apartments unit becomes available, you will receive an email offer. You are welcome to also apply for faculty/staff rental accommodation with Village Gate Homes at www.villagegatehomes.com.

What does this change mean if you are a faculty or staff member and are interested in on-campus rental accommodation?

• Effective December 15, 2010, UBC Student Housing and Hospitality Services will no longer be accepting applications for faculty/staff housing. We are pleased to refer you to Village Gate Homes who will continue to provide on-campus rental accommodation to faculty and staff.
