Laundry Rooms
Coinmatic is the service provider of washers and dryers for all our residences, except Green College which is serviced by PHELPS. Laundry cards are available at the dispenser in the Commonsblock. Your unit key will provide access to the laundry room. Please check with the Front Desk for the closest location of laundry room in your area. In consideration of those living near the laundry facilities, hours of operation are restricted to non-quiet hours. Please bring your own ironing board and iron.
The laundry machines operate using a laundry card. These are declining balance cards which eliminate the need to find or save quarters to do your laundry. At the card reload center in the Commonsblock, you may purchase your card at a cost of $5/card and add value to it using cash, debit card or credit card in denominations of $5, $10, $20.
Please keep your card in a secure place. Should it be misplaced, lost or stolen, you will be responsible for replacing it at your expense. Replacement cards can be purchased from the card reload centre in the Commonsblock.

Cost for wash and dry
The current rate for a single wash is $1.25. A dry costs 65¢ for the first 30 minutes and 35¢ for each 15 minute increments. Dryers can be topped up to finish off a load adding 15 minutes of drying time, instead of paying for another full cycle. Additional 15-minute increments must be added before the dryer completes the cycle and shuts off.
Where are the laundry rooms?
- There are three laundry rooms in Fairview Crescent complex.
- In Ritsmeikan-UBC House laundry rooms are on the second floor.
- In Marine Drive laundry rooms are on the main floor of each building.
- In Walter H. Gage Residence laundry rooms are in the basement of each tower, and on the ground floor of the Gage Apartments.
- In Totem Park laundry rooms are in the basements of Haida/Salish, Nootka/Dene, on each floor in Kwakiutl/Shuswap, and on the main floor of həm’ləsəm’and q’ələχən houses.
- In Place Vanier laundry rooms are in the basement of the 10 heritage houses. In Korea and Tec houses, laundry rooms are on the first floor.
- In St. John's College laundry rooms are on the first and second floors.
- In Green College laundry rooms are in the common kitchen and laundry building. A single wash and dry is $1.00 each.
- In Fraser Hall a laundry room is located in the basement.
