Residence Parking

Space Allocation

Residence parking spots are allocated on a first come first serve basis.

There are always more applications than spaces at some of the residences. Residents may be allocated to a parking space in the lot of the residence to which they are assigned, or to another residence parking lot. If we are unable to offer you a space in any residence parking lot, we will try to provide you with as much notice as possible.

Residence parking assignments for winter session parking will be emailed in August.

UBC Parking Services offers parking applications online for other campus parkades and surface lots. More information can be found on their website. UBC Parking Services operates a majority of the parking areas on campus including: L-lot near Place Vanier, Rits-Lot near Ritsumeikan-UBC House, Marine Drive Lot and the West Parkade near Marine Drive Residence.

 

How to Apply

Please log on to online service and click on Residence Parking, select new application and follow the instructions.

Terms & Conditions

Please review the Residence Contract section entitled "Transportation and Parking."

Parking in the reserved lots is only allocated for the residence term (September to April) except for year-round residences.

Parking spaces are allocated for one registered vehicle only for which the student must be listed as the primary driver. Residents cannot use their allocated parking space for a second vehicle, or parking for friends or visitors. Any unregistered vehicles may, without notice, be towed at the owner's expense. Residents attempting to transfer their allocated parking space will have their assignment cancelled and will forfeit their parking fees.

Fairview underground parking: parking is below the Fairview buildings. The entrance and exit area is gated and access is by key. The cost for the 8-month term (September - April) is $384 for vehicles and $192 for motorcycles.

Thunderbird Underground Parking: The entrance and exit area is gated and access to the underground is by key.
The cost is $48 per month for vehicles and $24 for motorcycles. Your account is billed on a monthly basis.

Thunderbird Residence Parkade: Residents at Marine Drive Residence may apply for a spot in the nearby Thunderbird parkade. All Thunderbird parking is underground with gated entrance and exit areas. Access to the underground is by key. The cost is $48 per month for vehicles and $24 for motorcycles. Your account is billed on a monthly basis.

Marine Drive-Lot (formerly R-lot) - Operated by UBC Parking Services. It is located next to Marine Drive Residence. The cost for this lot is as follows:

1 term (4 months) =$405.60 including taxes
2 terms (8 months) =$811.20 including taxes
3 terms (12 months) =$1216.80 including taxes

West Parkade: Operated by UBC Parking Services. It is located on Lower mall just across the street from Marine Drive Residence. The cost for this lot is as follows:
1 term (4 months) =$432.64 including taxes
2 terms (8 months) =$811.20 including taxes

Thunderbird Residence Parkade: Residents at Pondersoa Commons Residence may apply for a spot in the nearby Thunderbird parkade. All Thunderbird parking is underground with gated entrance and exit areas. Access to the underground is by key. The cost is $48 per month for vehicles and $24 for motorcycles. V-Lot - located above ground beside the Place Vanier Commons Block and only has a very limited number of parking spaces. The cost is $304 for the 8-month term (September - April).

Fraser Parkade: Operated by UBC Parking Services. It is located on the corner of Lower mall and Memorial road. The cost for this lot is as follows:
1 term (4 months) =$432.64 including taxes
2 terms (8 months) =$811.20 including taxes

G-Lot covered parking: Space is limited. The cost is $384 for the 8-month term (September - April).

G-Lot surface parking: the cost is $304 for the 8-month term (September - April).

T-Lot - above ground parking located near the Totem tennis courts. The cost is $304 for 8-month term (September - April).

Thunderbird Residence Parkade: Residents at Totem Park may apply for a spot in the nearby Thunderbird parkade. All Thunderbird parking is underground with gated entrance and exit areas. Access to the underground is by key. The cost for the 8-month term (September - April) is $384.

T-Lot - above ground parking located near the Totem tennis courts. The cost is $304 for 8-month term (September - April).

Rits-Lot - Operated by UBC Parking Services. It is located at the west side of the Ritsumeikan building. The cost for this lot is as follows:
1 term (4 months) =$405.60 including taxes
2 terms (8 months) =$811.20 including taxes
3 terms (12 months) =$1216.80 including taxes

All residents receive one parking spot with their unit. If you require parking for an additional vehicle, there is limited parking available for $38 per month. Please contact the Commonsblock Front Desk for further information.
