One of the many great things you CAN do while self-isolating is indulging in tasty and nutritious foods and beverages. Hooray! So enjoy yourself, and remember that staying well-nourished and hydrated in self-isolation will help support both your physical and mental health. Included below is information about meal plans, meal/grocery delivery options, and posts from students and staff replete with helpful tips and resources.

UBC Self-Isolation Meal Plan

This meal plan is included as part of the UBC Self-isolation Package. It can also be purchased and delivered to residents able to self-isolate in their own units ($49 per day plus tax | $15 per day plus tax – subsidized rate.

Looking for an easy solution to staying extremely well-fueled with tasty and nutritious meals and beverages throughout your self-isolation experience? UBC Meal Plans are available from Scholar’s Catering, UBC’s award-winning campus catering company.

  • 3 meals/beverages per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
  • 4 pre-selected meal plan type (omnivore, carnivore, pescatarian or vegan)
  • Meals/beverages delivered daily at once between 3pm-5pm in a kraft paper bag (dinner for that day, breakfast and lunch for the next day).
  • Meals delivered cold to give you the flexibility to eat whenever you want.
  • Includes a Welcome Kit with food items to help you bridge the gap between your arrival time and first meal delivery.
  • Residents able to self-isolate in their own units can purchase this meal plan for $49 per day by emailing reservations.housing@ubc.ca.
  • The plan can be paid for using a Residence Meal Plan (20% Residence Overhead price reduction applies).
  • Residents who indicate they are facing financial hardship during the registration / purchasing process receive a subsidized rate of $15 per day.

Other Meal Delivery Options

If you want to order in meals, popular delivery services include Skip the Dishes, Uber Eats, Door Dash, Fantuan, Yogi’s Kitchen. Please consider ordering food from nearby locations to reduce the sustainability impact of having meals delivered to campus.

If you are staying at Gage, please direct the food service provider to the front desk. Staff will let you know your food arrived, and deliver it directly to your room. Do not open your door when items are being delivered. Please note there may be a delay between when the food is delivered and when it arrives at your room.

Grocery Deliveries

If you have access to an equipped kitchen and plan on making your own meals, consider ordering groceries online for delivery to your door. Popular and near-by options include Stongs, Spud, and Save-On-Foods (select “Vancouver” and “UBC” when ordering). We recommend you order well in advance of your preferred delivered date.
